This quilt was my first attempts at the "One Block wonder" technique that create a kaleidoscope effect. I didn't particularly loved the fabric but it had all the characteristic I needed for this technique. I went on cutting and sewing. This is a very easy technique, the hard part was finding a nice disposition for the different blocks. Once finished it was....ok. I didn't really like it so I decided that it needed more. Since it was feeling to me like a garden, The fairy garden quilt was born. I love how the little fairy is looking on her domaine. I plan on adding some beads embroidery....when I start a quilt I never know where it will end up :)
Welcome to my Quilting blog. I love quilt, love quilting but got bored with traditional quilting. My solution was to try new technique and inspiration. Oh my... this is such a pretty fairy quilt! I love that you took something that you weren't sure you liked and by adding the fairy, the butterflies and tree branch, totally transformed it. I also like how the fairy is sitting on that narrow border.
