Sky bound Quilt top done

I love this quilt, it is so calming and airy, full of sky and silence...exactly how an hot air balloon trip feel. I will I'll probably quilt clouds in the border and keet it simple in the middle. I am also working on the tutorial for this quilt. Link to come

Rip and Stitch Halloween wall hanging

Using my rip and stitch technique was the only way to give me the effect I needed for this wall hanging.I had to try many different way to create the round moon, my best results was with the help of an embroideries hoop. I then cut it away and , adding it on top of my blue fabrics. It was quite thick but my trusted denim needle helped me.

Halloween owl

Using my rip and stitch method, I am trying to create a nice wall hanging for Halloween. After trying different way to do the background I think I found a way to represent the lights and shadows of this image.

Turning my Mermaid quilt into a pattern

I had so many people ask me if there is a pattern for my mermaid quilt that I decided to just do one. I never pegged myself as a designer but sometime life take an unexpected turn. I found some nice ladies to test my pattern to make sure that it is clear and easy to follow.

Cat at Twilight Free motion quilting details

Cat at twilight quilting is going great. Well, it was a nightmare until I changed my needle to a size 16......then no more problems. I am just doing an all over stippling.

Garden fairy done

Finally, the "Fairy garden " is done. I planed to do my free motion quilting when the temperatures would go down in our part of the world. September had another idea and we are in the middle of a heat wave. After putting the ac on, I did free motion quilting in the border of the quilt, one side is waves the other is leafs. Very happy with how this quilt came out. I have no one in mind for this toddler size quilt so I will just put it is the closet and put it for sale as soon as I know where I want to sell those quilts.

Practicing Free Motion Quilting

In january, I started practicing free motion quilting. I got the right tools, a few classes from Craftsy and my courage. I found it to be a load of fun and took care of one big problem I had with quilting.......the actual hand quilting is soooooooooooooooooooo boring and long, oh did I say boring? Now free motion quilting on my domestic machine just added another layer of creation. I got great (virtual) teachers and loved one of them motto "close enough is good enough" :D

When I have one moment, I practice on paper.....help with muscle memories and very inexpensive.

Cat at twilight, top done

I was able to finish my "cat at twilight" top. I think the purple border really frame nicely this bargello quilt. I also painted the butterfly. It is a first for me and it just show how much I suck at painting. Next time I try this, I will paint before sewing so I will be able to do differents tries and choose the one I like best.
