In january, I started practicing free motion quilting. I got the right tools, a few classes from Craftsy
and my courage. I found it to be a load of fun and took care of one big
problem I had with quilting.......the actual hand quilting is soooooooooooooooooooo boring and long, oh did I say boring? Now free motion quilting on my domestic machine just added another layer of creation. I got great (virtual) teachers and loved one of them motto "close enough is good enough" :D
When I have one moment, I practice on paper.....help with muscle memories and very inexpensive.

Oh my gosh your doodles are fantastic. I'm confident with a little practice you'll soon be stitching these designs out beautifully. And, I'm thinking you will soon become a Master FMQ and able to teach classes on your own. You have a natural talent. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I also host weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky parties every Friday. I hope you'll share your sketches, as well as your FMQ practice samples and projects. I think you'll inspire others.

Your practice sketches look AMAZING. I was scared to death to try free motion but once I got started I just couldn't stop. All of the doodling really does help with the muscle memory. Can't wait to see more of your stitching.
