I got myself a mini charm pack from free spirit Denyse Schmidt modern solids. Those 2.5" x 2.5" squares are just too cute to resist but I had no idea how to use them.
I could have done an Irish chain quilt but felt "Meh" about this idea. I remembered seeing a quilt that I could use those tiny squares in but I wanted to make it my own too. Here is my inspiration. I do not know who made it so if you know please tell me in the comments

Cute!!!!
And here is my version. Hopefully it will be as cute. I only added one triangle instead of 2 but like I said I wanted to make it my own. :) It feel quite modern since I only use solids and I am going from soft in the middle and darker as the quilt get bigger. I will probably quilt it with different colors wavy lines.
I love your version! I always wonder what to do with those little charm squares, what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think your version is lovely! I don't like to use little charm packs because I never know what to do with them and I usually only have one pack. Great idea to use them as punches of color on a white background.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! What I find even more interesting is your idea of going from soft to darker. I'm looking forward to seeing the pattern this will create.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that some triangles touch another one and some are alone... I suppose you need a good focus when assembling the squares. I'm sure I would make mistakes. lol
I love both versions, and isn't it nice to use up those charm packs?
ReplyDeleteI like your start. Looking forward to seeing the finished flimsy.
