Welcome to my Quilting blog. I love quilt, love quilting but got bored with traditional quilting. My solution was to try new technique and inspiration. Follow me in my journey of discovery who is my inner artist.

Remember this quilt? I am stuck stuck stuck......If it was big enough....I would not add a border but it is too small and I want it to be a usable quilt. Problem is I hate every border I audition for it. Argggg.
It is a very pretty quilt, I hope you find the right border.... perhaps you could piece together blocks of colour similar colours to the triangles in the quilt? Christine x
May I suggest a piano keys border, alternating strips of colors and white? You could even make it echo the light colors at the upper right and the darker colors at the lower left. Perhaps a very narrow stop border between the triangle blocks and the piano keys, maybe in yellow...
What about floating it in plain, white borders? I think it could really make the centre blocks pop - and creates a great chance for negative space quilting.
Hi! This is beautiful design! I'm big fan of bright colours with white! What about white border and colourful binding. Or if you need more borders, first white and then an other one with colour squares in the same size as your blocks. Debbie's idea is also good: very narrow colour and then white. Good Luck! x Teje www.nerospostbox.wordpress.com
It's lovely! If you want a border, I suggest more of the triangle blocks, with two triangle corners on the same edge. The you could place them so that the white portion of the block faces "in" towards the piecing and the edges with two trinagles face out to form the border. Just an idea! It will be beautiful no matter what you decide.
Oh! I vote for the white border idea. Then, what about putting on a flange binding, so the flange adds a pop of color? This is an adorable quilt! The variety of colors in the expanse of white just makes me happy!
Love the idea of adding a lot more white with a pop of color at the edge. I'm assuming you have more of the white or can purchase more? You mentioned that you would love to do more blocks but have used up all the precuts. You might be able to find more of the precuts online, if they are no longer available locally. Just google the name of the precut set if you know it. Yeah, I know...a lot of ifs...great quilt though and I really hope you can finish it the way you want to.

ReplyDeleteWhat about more white, to make the triangles look like they are really floating? It's really lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is a cute little quilt! I second the more white suggestion. Or maybe just finish it off at this size as a wall hanging or pillow?

ReplyDeleteHow about a very narrow strip of dark to stop the pattern then add wider white, or piano keys, or applique?

ReplyDeleteEither all white as a border, or put another row of blocks all around and no border. I know that is a lot of blocks, but they are so simple...
ReplyDeleteI would love to do the blocks but I used all the pre cuts :) Thank you for your suggestion
