Blast from the past

This is my first quilt. It is about 16 years old and I did it when my son was born. My "baby" is now a lot taller than me. This quilt have is stained and coming apart in some place but for me it is priceless.

It also remind me of packing my one year old and what ever I could fit in my car and driving 16 hours to my mother's place and 65$ in my bank account.  I can look back to that moment and be proud of all I was able to accomplish since for myself and my family.

  1. What fun it was, huh? My son is much taller than I, too now. but it's so nice to remember!

  2. It sounds like the quilt holds very powerful memories for you which must make it all the more special. The soft blues are so sweet.

  3. how lovely to still have your first quilt

  4. Baby things we made and used for our children are priceless. As well as the memories they hold. Thank you for sharing yours.
Thank you for participating to my Fabric, Thread and Yarn link party. Have a great day!

  5. It's amazing the feelings and memories that are tied up in our quilts. They truly become part of the fabric of our lives. Thanks for linking up with Throwback Thursday @ A Quarter Inch from the Edge!
