This weekend I mainly worked on my "Opposite attract" Bog hop :) Those are getting addictive!!! I can't show pictures (come back on June 7th to see it)
I also worked on my pin cushion exchange organised by Bea at http://www.beaquilter.com/
I stole ....humm I mean got inspired by Amanda Jean pincushinon at Crazy mom quilts
Those triangles are tiny!!!! the whole cushion is 4" but I love the results.....I might do a few ones for myself.
I also worked on my orange peel quilt. I had many questions about my newspaper fabric :) Yes it is fabric. I love any fabric with writing on it.
Here is the blocks done....I tried to put it down nicely but my kitties had other ideas....so here is a puddle of blocks LOL
I am almost ready to start quilting my little prince quilt. I just have to finish writing the quote....it just take time since I have to improvise a light box by putting my cell phone (with the light flash on) in a plastic box to trace the letters.

Oh goodness that pin cushion is cute! With triangles that small, did you paper piece it? Love the other projects too - absolutely agree, fabric with writing on rocks! :D
ReplyDeleteYes paper piecing was a must :)
DeleteI would love to see your light box. Your phone in a plastic box??? That's awesomely creative! The pincushion is so cute. Amanda Jean's is quite the inspiration isn't she?

ReplyDeleteLove your pincushion and orange peel on text print. I finally bought an inexpensive light box at Michael's with a coupon because they charge way too much for these! I think I paid about $30 in the end.
ReplyDeletea cute pin cushion and the text fabric looks good not seen any text around but think I need to keep my open. Very ingenuous using your light for the tracing, I have a light box which is so useful for tracing. Before I got it I used to stick the picture onto the window
ReplyDeleteI love your pincushion! I've been inspired by AmandaJean's collection, too! How did you make such tiny flying geese?
ReplyDeleteThank you. I used paper piecing....nothing else would work :)
DeleteLove the pincushion - so tiny!!! And the script on the fabric! Stunning! Can you please tell me what you use to write on the fabric? Really nice! I have heard of the cell phone DIY light box but haven't done it yet! I usually tape my applique patterns on a window and trace from there! One day, I'm sure I'll invest in a light box!!
ReplyDeleteAll have great colors!
ReplyDeleteGood job ! I love your newspaper fabric !
ReplyDeleteCute pin cushion! Love those tiny triangles. Love your lettering too - inventive use of a phone light!
ReplyDeleteI too love your newsprint fabric and your creativity with making your own light box!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with the script. I have been wanting to work with text on a textile project, I simply haven't figured out what. (Text-ile will be its name!)
Thanks for posting to TN&TN's WIP Wednesday!
Newspaper print fabric? How cool is that?!
ReplyDeleteI love making pincushions - they are such a quick (usually) project to finish and that satisfies my need to create on days when I have just a little time. Text fabric is fun to use and is always so interesting in a quilt! Thanks for sharing your great projects on MCM!
ReplyDeleteDarling pin cushion. Love the puddle of blocks. Thanks for linking up
ReplyDeleteYour orange peel quilt is going to be amazing. Great idea to put script across a backing. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteHi! Your projects are fantastic! I love the little pincushion - those tiny triangles are so perfect! And so is the newspaper fabric with turquoise/blue petals! And the writing - wow! x Teje

That pincushion is just too pretty to stick pins in it. Love the newspaper fabric.
