Now something easy

After all the thinking and tweaking of my Turtle quilt, I am ready to so something easy!!!! I bought 4 Tallulah charms packs at 3 Wishes fabrics. Could not resist those cute elephants :)

I have more than enough to make a cute and easy "plus Quilt" and it was on my to do list. One of our friend is having a baby (sex is a surprise) but I know she won't mind pink if it is a boy.

Already thinking of the fun FMQ I can do :)

Friday finish....top edition

I am pretty much done with my "Turtle Underwater" quilt top. Many of the 3D elements will be sown on the top once it is quilted like the seaweed, the fins on the fishes and the ray of lights. So very happy with the results.

Still working on the Turtle....and a bit of cougar

My quilting stay in the animal realm this week. My turtle is really taking shape and my background is almost done.

I also worked a bit on my low poly Cougar....does not look like much right now but it is always fun to see the finished product when I take the freezer paper off !!!

Turtle Underwater Quilt

My turtle quilt is taking shape! Slowly but surely because of health problems that leave me absolutely exhausted most of the time.
For the turtle I am mixing the crafted applique method with Inktense pastel and I am really loving the results. The fabric treatment does not impact the way the Inktense behave at all so it is a good news.

The background is about 40% done. I will probably add some fish and seaweed

Design wall Monday

I am back!!! The move is almost finished and I can sit down and sew. This title makes me happy.....because now I do have a design wall instead of a design floor :)

I just started a new ocean quilt. I used the same technique as my mermaid quilt but this one will have a turtle. My process is quite simple, I cut a few hundreds 2 inches squares in the color combination I like and put them on the design wall without thinking too much. I then take a picture to see if they play nice together and change what bother me. Taking a picture really help. (sorry for the bad pictures...I didn't intended to show them. ) Aslo shown....my new design wall :D
