I am back!!! The move is almost finished and I can sit down and sew. This title makes me happy.....because now I do have a design wall instead of a design floor :)
I just started a new ocean quilt. I used the same technique as my mermaid quilt but this one will have a turtle. My process is quite simple, I cut a few hundreds 2 inches squares in the color combination I like and put them on the design wall without thinking too much. I then take a picture to see if they play nice together and change what bother me. Taking a picture really help. (sorry for the bad pictures...I didn't intended to show them. ) Aslo shown....my new design wall :D

The perfect blues for an ocean! I love your technique on laying them out, and pictures are a great way to see just how it will look!!
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect watery blues! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect home for a turtle. Thanks for linking up at podunk pickins!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. It does look like the ocean. Adding some applique fish and seaweeds would be really nice.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Some of my favorite colors and your design is fantastic! Aren't design walls fun?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a design wall! You'll love looking straight on versus looking down. Thanks for sharing your ocean design on Midweek Makers
