Last week was all about curves, warm colors and serenity....well this week is about straight hard lines and cold colors. This quilt make me think of the hard corners of a glacier. Let see where this one bring me :)

BQF - Small Quilt - The little prince

Amy's Creative Side is hosting Blogger's Quilt Festival, in which quilters get to share their best recent work. My best work for this year was "the little prince" quilt inspired by the book of the same name.

The little prince book is my all time favorite book and when I saw the drawing of a fox made in low poly style by this wonderful artist, I knew I found my fox .

The text in the corner say "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other."

Serenity series - koi

round and round the koi go in search of the perfect spot LOL. I think it look better when the fish is looking down and the light blue at the bottom. My sweet love does not agree with he and think the light blue should be on top. So I am asking you :)

Serenity series.....butterfly

You know when you have an idea......then this idea lead to another idea.....and the next? Well here is the first piece of the serenity series.

I got many yards of Ombré fabrics a few months back but refused to just cut into them!!!! They were for petting only!!! But I already worked with silhouette on a few quilt before, Like my "Fairy in the garden" quilt or "Cat in the window" With great success. So this butterfly quilt was just a natural progression. So much open space to FMQ!!! This is going to be fun :)

Edited.....I love Mctavishing!!!! It make a wonderful texture

A few months ago I got wonderful Ombré fabrics from Timeless treasures and I have been petting since then but unable to cut. I wanted to do a butterfly quilt for sometime and in the middle of the night my Ombré Butterfly quilt was born. Still unsure what this quilt want to be but for now I am loving the effect.

I have the chance to meet a local quilt designer tomorrow!!!! I am very excited. She want to help me become the best designer I can be!!!! I will report back.

Plus baby quilt top

Woa....I missed my first "blog"nniversary!!! 132 posts and 40 000 views made my first year wonderful. Thank you everyone !!!!

I was able to finish my baby plus quilt top this week. I have to say that it is very cute. A bit of mindless sewing was just what I needed.

I also did a bit of test free motion quilting to see what I wanted to do on this quilt.

I also finished quilting my Turtle Underwater Quilt with wavy lines.

I still have to appliqué the seaweeds then add the binding. I am sure my daughter will love this one.
