On my "to do" list

Last week I made my first quilting video!!!! Pretty proud for the first one.....but don't watch it, it is in french LOL English version is coming very soon.

I also started to see if I could reproduce this painting

Into a quilt.....the colors are absolutely fabulous and the cat is a cutey

With a lot of layering and thread painting, I think I can make something interesting.

Last Day for my SuperSew and SuperB threads giveaway.

I finally finished this little guy!!! Any of you that enjoy playing video games around 1998 will recognize Spyro the dragon. If you don't....don't worry I didn't ether :D
It is the best picture I could take today because it is gloomy and foggy outside....anyway you've seem more than enough of him lol

On my wall this week and a giveaway

Still working on the dragon but almost done so I expect to have a top done in the middle of the week. For the background I use pretty much all of my black and white yardage and a fair amount of my scraps. I always wanted to do a low volume background and this little dragon is so colorful that I think it was the right time.

He make me smile every time I look at him :)

Baby Dragon and a new sponsor!!!

Let just start to say that this week has been exciting regarding my Quilting!!! I got my first sponsor....well my mentor Edith was the one that made it possible. Last year at the Quilt festival in Montreal, I saw a new thread vendor and since I was searching for a better thread to sew and quilt so I got a few bobbins. I know that everyone love Aurifil but my machine sure did not. I tried this vendor treads and then bought the whole range of colors :D

Anyway long story short, the owner gave me a lot of bobbins and I want you to share the bounty :) Just leave a comment on the color you want before November 26th and I will send one of  you one bobbin of SuperSew (3000m) and SuperB (5000m)

Trunk full of quilts November 2016

Hello and Welcome to Trunk Full Of Quilts here at Whims And Fancies! I didn't participated last year because I felt I had nothing to show !!!

This year I have a hard time choosing My favorites!!!

First one is my Butterfly at Sunset in the "serenity series". I feel it is powerful while still being simple. 

Number 2 is Koi in pond....once again in the serenity series.

Number 3 is the little prince from the book of the same name. It has a quote from the book written on it 

”For you I’m only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me we’ll need each other. You’ll be the only boy in the world for me and I’ll be the only fox in the world for you.”

I think he will have a great personality :D He is also a very good scraps buster!!!

Quilting is my therapy

Last night my poor love was very distressed about the results of the american elections (and we are not even Americans)  I hated seeing him in that state when there is nothing I can say or do that would help make it better.

I instead started a design I had in my head for some time. My art bring me serenity and it is why I am making my serenity series.

My little Ombre fish in now happily swimming. Very happy with the quilting texture ....well as happy as a quilter that see all the mistakes LOL.

Remember my plans on Monday? It was easy, 2 quilts...one to quilt and one to piece

Well my Koi quilt is not even started quilting...well a made the backing only to noticed that I didn't have an empty 505 canister. The dragon piecing ....well now my dragon has a belly. :)

So what DID I do? Well not that much because health was really not on my side this week sadly. My Narcolepsy got the best if me but I was able to do a few finish.

"Warm in the middle of Winter" quilt is done :) I think this quilt has great movement. Also I usually never take a picture of my backing but this one is too fabulous :)

I was also able to find the perfect border for my cougar top. I think this batik was just the perfect
