This week I was able to finish this little Christmas wall hanging. Let just say that the bow is not doing it for me. I might try some tulle bow. I will get back to you :)
I did the quilting with my walking foot using the book "Walking foot Quilting Design" by Melissa Martinget. It is full of great idea!!!! I used a variation of her design called Burst.
This week I once again had a bit of fun with my marbled fabrics and added a block to the previous one.
Water marbling is quite an experience.....and it can be very frustrating because a million things can go wrong. Some days you love what you created and some days you hate everything. Hopefully with time I will get more that I like and less frustrations.
I also started quilting Theodore the tiger quilt. Those are the threads that I pulled.
So many yummy colors.
And finally, I have to test all those batting and do a video for one of my sponsor :) I will play with those and see how they react. Never tried fusible before. I also want to pre shrink them and see if there is a lot of difference.
Should be fun.
And a little update on the splash of color QAL. Still sewing :)
Your fabrics are perfect for the Christmas ball, perfect value changes! I just love the black and whites with the greens!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job with the ornament. I agree with Page that the color choices are wonderful. I had to really look to find the bow! It'll be interesting to see a tulle bow.
ReplyDeleteI love the shading you achieved on the ornament. Hope you can find something better for the bow. I'm also wondering where you buy your threads from. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole. My threads are from www.monfil.ca . It is for embroidery but it work great for quilting!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great Christmas hanging Yanica, How about just attaching some Holly leaves at the top of the ball when it is hanging if you don't like the look of the bow? quilting is great and I do like the look of the echo quilting in different directions, its slow but so so effective. Thanks for sharing lots of ideas for Christmas. Cheers Glenda Australia.
