Pumpkin

I just finished a UFO that I started last fall. I made the pumpkin pattern but was unsure how to finish it. Since finished is better than perfect I just appliqued it on a fat quarter and quilted it. There is a few UFO'S I need to finish before Quebec Quilt at the end of May.

Water marbled Peacock

Peacock on hand water marbled fabric
18" x 22"
Appliqué and beading

This piece was really what I call a squirrel. (Have to stop everything and do it now project) I have a few water marbled fat quarters with aqua, green and dark blue. The more I looked at those, the more I was sure that those fat quater wanted to be a peacock. The movement of paint reminded me of feathers and the piece was screaming at me to be made. No I don't hear voices lol (Not THAT crazy)

You know what I mean, that impression that you know the perfect project for THAT fabric.

This piece came together seamlessly (pun not intended) I knew exactly what I wanted to do and how to do it. What perfect quilting was needed. It is a wonderful feeling that I wish I would have more often.

Finished and gifted

What fun is it to have almost instant gratification :)

Aqua and yellow baby quilt done and gifted and it will be perfect for baby boy's room. As usual I used polyester batting because it is easier to wash and dry....a must for baby quilts.

Now enough procrastination....I have to start getting ready for Quebec Quilt at the end of may.

Baby Quilt!!!!

Who can resist making a quilt baby quilt? I sure can't but I rarely have the occasion to do so.
One of my co-worker are waiting for their 3rd boy so I jumped on the occasion :)

Her and her wife told me they are painting the baby's room  Aqua! I have a ton of fabrics perfect in my stash and found squares already cut that were perfect.

I started quilting it last night but busted my last needle. Darn!

So this is a "Almost finished" Friday edition :)

Sad and Sleepy

My Wonderful /sarcasm insurance company decided that in fact I am not sick and I had to get back to work.

There main proof is the fact that I in fact able to write this blog and do textile art. I repeated that all  the business part of what I do is all my husband doing and I am no where able to support my family. (All this is just a small taste of what my Americans have to deal with every time they have to deal with health insurance)

Le sigh.....so all this has been difficult and draining.

My only project that I have the energy to do is the quilt for my friend's mother 75th birthday. I plan to finish it for march 15th at the latest. This beast is 105" x 105"!!! I rarely have to battle such a big quilt lol
